Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, is a physiological disorder typically associated with lack of light. People who suffer SAD often respond to the lack of daily sunlight from fall thru spring by developing any number or combination of the following symptoms.

The SunRay is our most popular 10,000 lux light box. It is roughly the size of a briefcase (23 in. x 15.5 in. x 3.25 in. (58.4 cm x 39.4 cm x 8.3 cm)) and weighs only 14 lbs. (7 kg). The desk stand (included) can be attached neatly behind the light box when not in use. These features combine to make the SunRay an extremely portable light box. It can be easily moved between home and office. It can even be taken on airlines as carry-on luggage.
The SunRay has one light setting, providing:

The SunRay II+ is the same dimensions as the SunRay. It weighs 16.5 lbs. (7.5 kg). Like the SunRay, it comes with a desk stand that can be neatly tucked behind the unit when not in use. The SunRay II+ has two light settings.

The SunSquare+ is a 10,000 lux light box measuring 23 inches x 24 inches x 3.25 inches (58.4 cm x 61 cm x 8.3 cm). It is the largest light box we currently make. The SunSquare+ has two light settings.

The SunSquare+ is not intended as a particularly portable unit. It comes with an adjustable height floor stand. It is ideal for people who don't need to move their light box very often. Thanks to the height of the floor stand and the large lighted surface area, the SunSquare+ is a great unit to use while working out on home fitness equipment--exercise, by the way, is a healthy way to help deal with the winter blahs.

The SunLight Jr. is the smallest, lightest, least expensive light box we have ever made. With dimensions of just 14.5 in. x 6.875 in. x 7.375 in. (36.9 cm x 17.5 cm x 18.8 cm), it is small enough to fit in a duffel bag and only weighs 6 lbs. (2.75 kg). Designed as an economy model, the SunLight Jr. is recommended for use at 5,000 lux. It will provide 10,000 lux at a distance of about 10 in., but the small lighted surface area means that the light is very concentrated at close distances, which some people find uncomfortable. An optional desk stand is available for an extra $25.

SunRizr and SunUp Dawn/Dusk Simulators are a breakthrough for people who must wake up before sunrise. Just plug an incandescent light source (up to 400 watts) into the dawn/dusk simulator and plug the simulator into a wall outlet. You have all you need to bring dawn into your room any time you want.

These programmable devices allow you to set the time your dawn will start. The SunRizr has a fixed duration dawn of 45 minutes and a dusk of 15 minutes. The sunUp allows you to set how long it will take for the lamp to reach full intensity--from one minute to three hours. Your room will gradually fill with a warm sunny glow, replicating the pattern of natural dawn so precisely that your eyes will perceive and react to it as if the sun had come up. You'll wake up spontaneously, with your eyes adapted to room light. SunRizr and SunUp eliminate the discomfort associated with sudden light changes while your eyes are dark adapted.
